Container load calculator
Estimate how many cartons — and how many bottles — fit in a 20GP, 40GP or 40HQ container, limited by volume or by weight.
How the estimate works
The calculator tries all six carton orientations against the inside dimensions of the container and keeps the best fit, then takes off a margin for real-world gaps (about 5% floor-loaded, about 14% palletised). It also checks the payload limit, so heavy cartons are capped by weight.
| Container | Inside L × W × H (cm) | Max payload |
|---|---|---|
| 20GP | 589 × 235 × 239 | ≈ 21,700 kg |
| 40GP | 1203 × 235 × 239 | ≈ 26,500 kg |
| 40HQ | 1203 × 235 × 269 | ≈ 26,500 kg |
Typical values; exact dimensions and payload vary by container owner and road limits in your country.
Glass bottles are often shipped on pallets without cartons (bulk palletised with layer pads). For those, ask us for the pallet pattern of the exact bottle — see shipping glass bottles from China.
